Sichuan International Expo Group Co., Ltd. (the Group) was formerly known as Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs, a public institution directly under Sichuan Provincial Government. In 2019, it was approved by Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government to be established as a functional type II enterprise solely funded by the state in 2019. It was incorporated in April 2019, headquartered in Chengdu, Sichuan with a registered capital of one billion yuan. It holds 49% shares in Phase I (International Exhibition Center) and Phase II (Tianfu International Convention Center and Business Center) of Western China International Expo City, with assets exceeding 20 billion yuan.

The Group is the only state-owned provincial enterprise in Sichuan that focuses on the convention and exhibition industry. On the second list of recommended exhibition enterprises of the Ministry of Commerce, the Group serves as the presidency of the Sichuan Convention and Exhibition Industry Association and functions as the Secretariat of the Organizing Committee of the Western China International Fair (WCIF).

The Group aims to enhance the WCIF’s role to facilitate China’s opening-up, enhance the core competitiveness of the convention and exhibition industry, and boost the development of the province’s open economy. By pooling the province’s strengths in convention and exhibition sector, the Group conducts extensive cooperation, accelerates the building of six business segments, namely, MICE operations, MICE communication, MICE properties, MICE commercial services, digital MICE business and MICE capital investment, and cultivates and develops the exhibition IP cluster. And it helps Sichuan to become a major province of convention and exhibition events, services, and infrastructure in the country.
